Uphill Testimonial

Michael Tolson, Sheffield, England – My Uncle and a retired schoolteacher and stage actor

I couldn’t put it down, Geoff. I read it three times and you said exactly what you needed to say. Incredibly well written

Larry Mallis – We became close friends after working with him at University of Iowa

I didn’t have the pain level you did and for so long (Larry had major open-heart surgery). I know all about the tears too.

James Pavlovich – A friend I met as a client at UCSB

I read it in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. You lay it all out there.

James Proctor – My attorney and friend for many years

When you told me you had written a book, I thought it was a pipe dream until I read it. It is very well written. Your writing style would be really good for a thriller as a second book.

Common reaction from many readers

Could not put it down, and one of the best books I have ever read.

An avid 70-year-old reader in Minden

The best book I have read.

Jennifer Gillyon my sister

It is a cracking read and I have never met anyone who went through so much. I am sure it will do well.

Claire Fortier – Friend and renowned editor who took on this project

We did it. I am so proud of you. I am privileged to be part of Uphill. You could have been discouraged when a professional writer criticized your original manuscript. You weren’t. Instead, you made the corrections and adjustments.

Chris Proctor – My physical therapist for three years and now a close friend

I couldn't put it down for about three days. Really impressed Geoff. What you went through would be really impossible for most, but you managed to do it at the same time being there for two teenagers, and traveling the world to keep your business going (with disabling knee pain). As with most cyclists, you just kept pedaling through it all. Returning to Hong Kong at the end was moving because people don't understand the fog of pain, depression and stress. How you wove your cycles, automobiles and female friends into the story is very unique which likely helped you keep your sanity.

Recent Internet Review

The best inspirational book I have read so far

Anonymous Neighbour

I cannot imagine what you went through. It made me cry in places.

This is a great story that begins with exciting events that immediately capture the reader’s interest and imagination! You had so much going on you easily held my attention beginning with Cross and his companion in Africa examining a sought-after diamond, and the story just kept moving at a rapid pace, after that! Your descriptions and details are quite vivid and certainly realistic. I found it a difficult book to put down! I think readers will love it, with all its intrigue and action, and will be eagerly awaiting the next book from you! Perhaps you’ll have a sequel for this story, and we’ll be seeing more of Cross in Tehran.

Lorie Chapman – Wife of my realtor who loved Uphill and encouraged a thriller

It is sooooo awesome.

Julia Lewis – an English friend in Tahoe.

I read it in one day. It had many twists and turns and is a good read.

Rick Kondrat – A long-time client and close friend, now retired

This should be the next Bond movie. The more circulation the book gets the more likely it becomes a movie. This is a movie deal.

Juliya Shyngel – A close friend

I started to continue to read your book. OMG, so interesting. It just swallows you in, lol. Love it so far 😁

Peter – A client

A very interesting story and I enjoyed it.
